
The UKMT Team Challenges promote mathematical dexterity, team working, and communication skills. They also give pupils the opportunity to compete against pupils from other schools in their region.
Activities include:
The UKMT organises the Team Maths Challenge (TMC), for pupils in Year 8 and Year 9 (and equivalent), and the Senior Team Maths Challenge (STMC) for those pupils in Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 (and equivalent).
The Senior Team Maths Challenge is organised jointly with the Further Mathematics Support Programme.
A team consists of four pupils, and teams should have no more than two pupils from the upper age group.

Download materials from the website to use in school, either for the enjoyment of all your pupils or to help you select the team of four pupils to represent your school in Round Two.
Enter your team for the Regional Final day. Your team of four pupils will represent your school or college at a pre-arranged 'Team Challenge Event'. Entry to a Regional Final costs £30. Each participant receives a certificate, and the top three teams at every Regional Final will receive prizes. The winning team at each Regional Final, and a few runners-up, will receive an invitation to the National Final.
Team Maths Challenge Regional Finals are held at various venues from February to April, and Senior Team Maths Challenge Regional Finals are held throughout November and December.
Qualifying teams from the Regional Finals will be invited to compete at a one-day National Final held in London. All participants receive a certificate and goody bag. The winners will be presented with prizes and the Team Challenge National Trophy.
