Nrich
The highly popular session from the Nrich Project, based at Cambridge University, will demonstrate how to get the most out of mathematical materials to challenge and engage students. You will explore some of the material on www.nrich.maths.org, hear how teachers are using it and take away new ideas for your own classroom.
UKMT
The UK Mathematics Trust speaker will use materials from our competitions, demonstrate the thinking behind questions and consider how they and the ideas behind them can be used to stimulate classroom interest. The individual challenges are taken by over 600,000 UK students every year; over 1000 schools enter the Team Challenge; and over 800 the Senior Team Challenge.
Colin Wright
Colin has a PhD in mathematics from Cambridge. While there he also learned how to fire-breathe, unicycle, juggle and ballroom dance. He is now director of a company that specialises in software for marine radar and will talk in his usual entertaining style about maritime mathematics.
